Mrs. McQuillan
Mrs. McQuillan's Quality Students are
super-duper, awesome, cool First Graders with super brains!

This year we will stay focused on doing our best work, think before we speak or do, listen to and obey our teachers, and treat others how we want to be treated.

Mrs. McQuillan’s Quality Students show respect by…

…not talking when it’s time to listen or work.
…keeping bodies to ourselves and being kind to others.
…being still and paying attention to the speaker.
…being responsible for our things and our classroom.
…staying on task and doing our best all the time.
…obeying the teacher and following instructions.

Class Updates
The Countdown has Begun!
What a great year it has been here in Room 115, this time has really flown by for me!  I don't feel like I'm ready to give these amazing kids up yet!  We are finishing up our last math unit, our economics unit, and our plant unit for science.  There is lots of learning left to do before Friday!  :-)

Today the children will be watching a movie as their celebration for filling up their 7th Super power chart!!!  They get super powers for excellent behavior in the hallway and during their specials, and I am so proud of them for completing so many charts!!

Friday the children will be allowed to bring in a board game or a card game to share with their friends, if they would like to.  I have plenty of games here, so it certainly isn't necessary.  Here are the guidelines:

Please do not send in anything that requires batteries or a power source of any kind.  No DSi's, gameboys, etc.

Please label the game and the pieces.

Please do not send in an expensive or sentimentally special game; first graders are still learning how to take care of and clean up board games, and I would hate for pieces to get lost or damaged from an irreplaceable game!

Please reinforce the corners of the boxes with tape before they bring the games to school, and be sure it is secure enough to be taken on the bus.

Report cards will go home with the students at dismissal time on Friday.  If your child will not be coming to school on Friday, you can pick the report card up in the office starting Monday, June 20th.

Have a super safe, fun summer, and read, read, read!!!
